People questioned, “What’s the point of Twitter?” but now with some research people are starting to realize they can’t really be bothered with it! Stop the Presses, is it true? Twitter is pointless? Twitter is useless? Twitter is boring? Is this the end of Twitter? Well maybe, maybe not.

Twitter might be the most boring social media site that you have ever visited and it maybe safe to say that facebook is the most popular but people keep “tweeting” and you for the life of you, just can’t figure out why. Many simply believe that Twitter is just background noise in the social media realm and people that are into social media will be much more attracted to a website that “does it all” rather than Twitter.

Although you have to admit, there are some things that twitter does well…

simple and easy
find basic information easy
takes no experience to operate
anyone can join and create and account

although it does do these things well, they still need to offer many more functions.

These hard-hitting celebs are not the only ones who think Twitter is a bit like Ricky Martin. Apparently most people see it as a short-lived craze, enticing and the center to everyone’s conversation at first, then a bit of a one-trick pony later. Twitter’s traffic is not as good as first thought, numbers are high but people are not getting into it. Apparently a Nielsen study has shown that 60% of Twitterers don’t return after the first month of joining.

At this current rate, Nielsen say that Twitter will only reach about 10% of online customers. – Something that probably needs to be told to the plethora of salesmen frequenting the said website.
