A way to page your  remote control...lol. i have kids and it's not always in the couch!

Actually I've seen that.  There's a device you attach to what ever it is you don't want to lose.  Then you press a button on the another device that looks like a remote control and it triggers the attachment to create a sound which helps you locate the lost item.

Now if your absent minded like me you need a second device to help when you lose the first remote. - LOL

A home phone that works like a cellphone. You know you can carry it with you. Once it goes out of range it turns on the cellular network.

I'd kinda thought by now we'd be able to have cars that either:

A) Run purely on solar power effectively

B) Run on water

C) Fly....  or maybe go into space. 

Hard to think we still rely on fossil fuels so much when the technology must be there to advance

Option A maybe.  Water is too precious a resource to spend on cars and flying cars equals certain death in a crash.  I could see it now "Sky rage replaces road rage".
