Have you heard of "controlled crying" and do you endorse it?

Topics: 23   Posts: 6

Many child professionals have advised mothers to let their newborns "cry it out" when they are frustrated.

Many believe a baby's only means of communicating distress is to cry and meeting the child’s needs will reassure them  the parents will  to take care of them.

Others feel running to a child simply spoils them.

What are your views on the idea of controlled crying with newborns?

Wow !!-"Controlled Crying" I don"t Endorse At All.  The Question To Be Asking Is "Why Do Babies Cry "& Why would Any Grown Adult Do Such A Thing To A Baby.  Well "controlled Crying"  Teaches A Baby About Disappointment & Neglect. With Babies "Out- Of -Sight Out Of Mind " Is All They Know. That's All For Now.

I heard about this a few years ago. It definity depends on the age of the child. I am sure when they speak of newborns they mean within 2 months of birth. At that age they will undoubtably will not take it personally.

I would have to agree to an extent. You know though those spoiled kids that just make a hint of a sound and the parents come running. Their has to be a happy medium. No pun intended.
